Dosanjh won this year’s Filmfare Best Debutant award for Udta Punjab.
Harshvardhan Kapoor on Thursday apologized to Diljit Dosanjh for expressing displeasure over his Filmfare debut award win, two days after he claimed that he deserved this year’s award.
The 26-year old son of Anil Kapoor tweeted his apology, “Love you to sir, have lots of respect for you and your body of work sorry if I said anything that came out wrong @diljitdosanjh @AnilKapoor.”
Dosanjh, who earlier acted in several Punjabi films, won this year’s Filmfare Best Debutant award for his power-packed performance in Udta Punjab. Harshvardhan Kapoor, who debuted with ‘Mirzia’ expressed his unhappiness on Filmfare’s decision in an interview to indianexpress.com and had said that Best debut award should be given to people who are actually new comers, and not to somebody who has worked in several films before heading to Hindi films.
On the other hand, Diljit Dosanjh told PTI in an interview that he is not hurt by the comments Harshvardhan made.
“I am not hurt. I am not sad. I am thankful to Filmfare Awards for the honor that they gave me. I don’t think I was deserving enough. It’s a big award (and) I think they would have seen something in me and so they gave me the award,” he said.

Don't feel entitled to any award,I'm questioning the principle of who is a newcomer, have zero problems losing to a genuine newcomer
