An Indian American teacher has been suspended after a video that shows her firing a water gun at an image of President Donald Trump went viral online.
Payal Modi, an art teacher at Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas, was suspended by the school authorities on Thursday as she was caught on camera shooting a squirt gun as a video of President at his inauguration ceremony projected onto a white board.
The eight-second video shows Ms. Modi holding a water gun, pointing it at an image of President Trump and yelling ‘Die!’ as she shoots the gun.
Officials at the Dallas Independent School District announced an investigation about the incident and placed Ms. Modi on leave.
“Today, we were made aware of a social media posting being circulated involving a teacher at W H Adamson High School. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and the district has opened an investigation. This is a personnel matter and, as such, we cannot comment,” Dallas Morning News quoted DISD Spokeswoman Robyn Harris.
This is not the first mock Trump assassination to be staged in Texas. Earlier, two San Antonio high school students and their teacher were reprimanded over a skit performed shortly after the November election.
