Jupiter, Earth and Sun will position itself in a straight line.
This coming week will mark some of the most spectacular days for sky-gazers as the planet Jupiter will shine brighter and bigger as it comes opposite to Sun and closer to Earth.
According to NASA, Jupiter will be in the closest proximity to Earth on April 7 than any other days of 2017, making it look bigger than the normal days.
NASA has confirmed that sky gazers can get to see the bigger and brighter Jupiter, and its large four moons Callisto, Europa, Ganymede, and Io using a binocular starting from Friday. The phenomenon will be also visible with the naked eye when Jupiter will rise in the east around sunset and will be visible all night.
By using a basic telescope, NASA said, space geeks can get to see the Great Red Spot in Jupiter, which is a giant storm moving across the planet with a size twice that of earth.
NASA also says a careful monitoring of Jupiter in the next few days will help in understanding the movement of its moons as they orbit the planet in different speed.
Locating Jupiter in the sky will be easy as it will shine brighter in the opposite direction of the sunset in the evening and in the morning one can find it opposite to the sunrise. During this phenomenon, the fifth planet and the biggest of our solar system will be illuminated by the sun and will appear to us like a disk.
This Friday, Jupiter, Earth and Sun will position itself in a straight-line opposite to each other. Even though the phenomenon is seen best on Friday, it will continue for the coming few weeks. The celestial incident would re-occur on May 9, 2018.
