Salman Khan, AR Rahman, Alia Bhatt to perform at IIFA Festival New York 2017

The 18th edition of  the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) is all set to delight fans with its premier edition in New York; and promises some stunning performances from Bollywood celebrities.

IIFA Awards, which will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 15, will witness performances of Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and Shahid Kapoor among other celebrities.

Music maestro AR Rahman will also perform at the same venue for IIFA Rocks event on July 14.

The event would host several other celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Farhan Akhtar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Shabana Azmi, Javed Aktar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

International superstars such as Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Thora Birch, Kylie Minougue, John Travolta, Hilary Swank and Kevin Spacey would grace the 2017 IIFA Weekend and Awards.

IIFA officially began the festival on April 14 at JW Marriot Hotel, Mumbai, with the voting process. The voting was concluded on April 16.

A premier edition for New York, a city that is renowned to be a mecca for entertainment, business, fashion and culture makes it perfect fit to the multi-faceted IIFA Festival,” Wizcraft International Entertainment, the creators and producers of IIFA, said in a statement.

“We are thrilled to welcome IIFA to New York! Our city is home to both a thriving film industry and a dynamic, growing Indian American community. This is an event that will contribute enormously to both the cultural and economic life of our city. We welcome the artists and fans of Indian cinema, and encourage everyone to experience the rich cultural life across the five boroughs while celebrating these groundbreaking films,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

The sales of the tickets have already started on April 19. And, they are exclusively available online at ticketmaster.com or official IIFA website or simply by calling (800) 745-3000.  The price denominations rage from $75 to $1078.

Tickets can also be purchased from the MetLife Stadium Box office beginning April 20 at 11 a.m. ET (Box Office hours: M-F, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
