Sessions should not be the Attorney General, Harris tweets.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) on Wednesday called for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions after the CNN revealed that he did not disclose last year’s meetings with Russian officials, while applying for security clearance.
Harris shared a CNN report that quotes the Justice Department on twitter and said that Sessions should not be the Attorney General.
“He’s lied under oath. He’s misled on security clearance forms. It’s simple – he should not be the Attorney General,” Harris tweeted.

According to the report, Sessions, met Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak last year at least twice. But he didn’t disclosed any details about the meetings on the form that asked him to list any contact over the past seven years he or his family had with any foreign government or its representatives.
The report confirms Harris’ earlier allegations on Sessions about his meetings with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Harris, who is a fervent critic of Sessions, questioned his objectivity while speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper last week, and asked him to resign over the firing of FBI director James Comey.
Earlier, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi also denounced President Trump’s decision to fire the FBI director and declared that he will continue to fight for a full investigation by an independent commission or independent prosecutor for Russia probe.
