Vinay Dube is serving as Senior VP at the Asia Pacific, with Delta Airlines, one of the world’s largest airlines.
Mumbai-based Jet Airways on Wednesday appointed Indian American Vinay Dube as the company’s Chief Executive Officer, a post that has been vacant for more than two years.
Dube would also head the executive management team that has been tasked by the board of directors to strengthen the company’s growth and future strategy by leveraging its partnership with equity partner Etihad Airways, The Mint reported.
Dube, who currently serves as the senior vice-president of Asia Pacific with Delta Airlines, is an aviation veteran with nearly three decades of experience. During his decade-long career with Delta, he helped the company to expand its Asia-Pacific business profitably.
Soon after the exit of Cramer Ball last year, Jet Airways appointed Gaurang Shetty as the acting CEO in 2016. He was later replaced by CFO Amit Agarwal, who currently serves as the acting CEO.
“I am delighted that Vinay Dube will be joining Jet Airways as its chief executive officer. An Indian American, Vinay brings an enviable combination of smart and sharp mindset with global exposure to industry best practices. I am sure Jet Airways will gain substantially from his wealth of experience and industry insight,” said Naresh Goyal, chairman of Jet Airways, The Mint reported.
Jet Airways operates flights to 65 destinations, including India and overseas. The company’s domestic India network covers metro cities, state capitals, and emerging destinations. The airline also operates flights to key international destinations in South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America.
