Saturday’s terror attack on London Bridge killed seven people and injured 48
President Donald Trump on Monday criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan for making a “pathetic excuse” to Londoners saying there was no reason for people to be alarmed.
“Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his “no reason to be alarmed” statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!” the president tweeted.

This is Trump’s second tweet criticizing London’s Muslim mayor after Saturday’s terror attack on London Bridge that killed seven people and injured 48.
“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!” Trumped tweeted on Sunday after the mayor issued a statement saying “an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days – no reason to be alarmed.”

In an interview with 4 News, following a vigil held near London’s famous Tower Bridge, Sadiq Khan dismissed Trump’s criticism. He said that he hasn’t “got the time to respond to tweets from Donald Trump” as he deals with the fallout from the latest attack on the British Capital.
“I don’t think we should roll out the red carpet to the President of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for,” Khan told the News Channel.
“When you have a special relationship it is no different from when you have got a close mate. You stand with them in times of adversity, but you call them our when they are wrong. And there are many things about which Donald Trump is wrong,” he added.
However, the acting US ambassador to the UK Lewis Lukens praised Khan’s effort and the US Embassy in London tweeted Lukens’ comment.
“I commend the strong leadership of the @MayorofLondon as he leads the city forward after this heinous attack,” the tweet read.
