This time he is thrilled about his new Hindi learning app
Tech giant Apple has begun its 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday. Now, the eyes of all the tech enthusiasts around the world are on the San Jose Convention Center, where Apple showcases new software and technologies for software developers.
Ishaan Prasad, a 16-year-old Indian American student from Boston, Mass., is attending his second WWDC and this time he is thrilled about his new Hindi learning app, The Indian Express reported.
The teenage developer, who has published apps for iOs, Android and Windows 8, developed his first app when he was just 12. It was a children’s game named PetRum and Prasad created it when he was under stress as his mother was hospitalized. It was downloaded more than 30,000 times and is Prasad’s most successful creation till date.
Prasad’s Hindi learning app Match-It-Up helps children to learn their native Hindi and has a matching card game with different difficulty levels. Prasad developed the app for Indian American children like him.
He told the newspaper that WWDC is all about the people he gets to meet and the direct access to Apple’s knowledge base.
Prasad first made headlines when he was made to the list of 350 students worldwide to qualify for a paid scholarship to the WWDC in 2015. His inspiration to coding was Scratch, a course developed by MIT media lab.
He was a student at Belmont Hill School in Boston and is now looking forward to starting college soon.
“As I get older and have more time and experience I would love to see what else I could try,” he told the newspaper.
