Candidates who are eligible to apply under the Express Entry System should be ready with their applications as Nova Scotia would reopen its requirements for workers in the next few months.
As US tighten its grip around immigrants, Canada is opening new avenues to ensure it welcomes skilled workers with attractive offers. Nova Scotia, the maritime province of Canada, on July 5 reopened the Express Entry Stream. Under this, the candidates in the Express Entry pool could apply for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP).
However, owing to the demand and popularity of the program, the required number were exhausted within few hours on the day of opening, July 5. But, it will reopen in a few months, according to the Canada Immigration Newsletter on Wednesday. “As the most recent intake period indicates, the intake for this stream is capable of being reached within hours, as it has on previous occasions. However, this stream is set to reopen over the next few months and into next year, benefiting potential applicants in the pool who prepare in advance.â€

The province is one of the few remaining stream in Canada that work on first-come, first-served basis. “By opening this category, Nova Scotia opened its doors to a diverse range of proactive candidates in the pool. There are occupations in finance, health care, engineering, information technology, academia, and in social work and the legal field,†said Attorney David Cohen, the newsletter reported.
