The three-day long Global Entrepreneurship (GES) 2017 is coming to an end in Hyderabad and Ivanka Trump, who is leading the US delegation, also wrapped up her Indian tour.
During the visit, South Indian star Samantha Akkineni gave a special gift to Ivanka Trump on behalf of the State of Telangana.
Akkineni is the brand ambassador of Telangana Handloom and her gift to Trump is famed Gollabhama Saree. The Siddipet Gollabhama sarees, a product with Geographical Indication status, has a history of over 50 years and are made in Telangana’s Siddipet. These cotton saris are popular for their inlay figure work and motifs.
According to reports, Akkineni herself visited Siddipet for selecting the saree.
A specially designed saree-gown is also among the gifts and the Neeta Lulla designed ensemble has a motif of the traditional music instrument sitar.
Trump has finished her India visit with a private tour to the Golconda Fort on Wednesday.
“Tour of Golkonda Fort with members of the US delegation prior to departing Hyderabad. The perfect end to a remarkable visit,” Trump tweeted.
