Rajiv is a long-time Democrat and Raj a staunch Republican.
CNN gave another bait for the Trump administration to attack it after the broadcaster displayed the image of Rajiv Shah instead of White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah.
CNN, which is already facing the Trump administration’s furry, got severely battered by Trump supporters for its failure to identify the two Indian Americans who belong to two different parties.
The first to attack CNN on the error was White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders who tweeted  “@CNN this is definitely not @RajShah45 but it is #FakeNews.”
The tweet also had the screenshot of CNN displaying the image of Rajiv Shah instead of Raj Shah.

Who is Rajiv Shah?
Rajiv ‘Raj’ Shah was the administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the highest ranking Indian American in the Obama administration. He is currently the president of Rockefeller Foundation, one of America’s largest and most influential philanthropies.
In the meanwhile, Raj Shah was one of the first Indian Americans to be appointed by President Trump to his administration in January.
Shah was initially appointed as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Communication Director and Research Director of the Trump administration. In September, he was appointed as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Press Secretary.
Air Force One press gaggle of Raj Shah
Last month, Raj Shah became the highest ranking Indian American to hold a White House press gaggle with journalists aboard the Air Force One.
In his first ever press gaggle Shah had defended the president’s action of retweeting an anti-Muslim video that praises him for prioritizing national security through controversial travel order.
Both Rajiv Shah and Raj Shah have only their Indian heritage in common as Rajiv is a long-time Democrat and Raj a staunch Republican.
This is not the first time that the US and Indian media have messed up with the names of the two Indian American leaders.
