Anuska Shetty’s Bhaagamathie has joined the million dollar club in the United States. It is reportedly the first south Indian heroine-centric film to join million dollar club in this country.

Bhaagamathie has emerged as the biggest hit in Shetty’s career. The movie has grossed more than 500 million rupees ($7.8 million) worldwide and $1 million in the United States. It is Shetty’s biggest ever solo hit at the US box office, surpassing her movie Rudhramdevi, which collected $970,000 in this country.

Bhaagamathie, a horror thriller, was released on January 26, 2018. Directed by G. Ashok, it also features Jayaram, Unni Mukundan, Asha Sharrath and Murali Sharma.

The film was planned to be shot in 2012 but had to be postponed because of Shetty’s schedule. She had committed with her pending projects, including Baahubali: The Beginning and Rudhramadevi. Many believe Bhaagmathie, because of its strong substance, might be end up as the biggest grossing film in Shetty’s career.

Shetty’s next film will be Gautham Vasudev Menon’s multi-starrer Ondraga.
