Rajinikanth heads to US for medical check-up

The Tamil superstar’s big budget Kaala is scheduled for release this summer.

Indian superstar Rajinikanth is heading to the United States for two weeks for routine medical checkup, according to news reports.

The actor will return to India before the audio launch of his upcoming big-budget film Kaala and join the team for its promotional works.

Rajinikanth had visited the United States for medical checkup last year after wrapping up the first schedule of Kaala.

There has been intense speculation about Rajinikanth’s entry into politics and there are rumors that he will announce the launch of his political party when he returns to India after the US trip.

He said that he has no time frame regarding the political party. “I will definitely start a party but haven’t decided on a date yet. When I do, I’ll definitely inform you,” Rajinikanth told reporters.

Kaala, was announced in 2016, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The producers had earlier launched a teaser of the gangster film, which is directed by Pa. Ranjith, who earlier directed Rajanikanth’s Kabali, and is produced by his son-in-law and actor Dhanush. In the film, Rajinikanth plays the role of a don in the slums of Mumbai.

Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also features Nana Patekar, Samuthirakani, Huma Qureshi and Easwari Rao in notable roles. Patekar is playing the role of villain in the film.  Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for the film. The film was previously scheduled to be released on April 27, but later it was rescheduled to June 7.

Rajinikanth’s science fiction 2.0., directed by Shankar, is expected to hit the screens during Diwali.
