Suresh Mukund, who shot to fame after winning the “World of Dance,” has been nominated for an Emmy Award. The Emmys will be held in Los Angeles on September 22.
Remember that electrifying performance by Indian dance group Kings United, last year, at the reality show World of Dance, which left Jennifer Lopez floored?
Suresh Mukund, the Mumbai based choreographer for the group, is in no mood to go slow, as he continues to court newer success. He has been nominated this year for the very prestigious Emmy Awards in the Choreography for Variety or Reality Program category.
With this nomination, Mukund becomes the first choreographer ever from India to be nominated for an Emmy Award. The 71st Annual Academy Awards ceremony will be held on September 22 in Los Angeles.
Mukund is currently in Hollywood to attend the Choreography Nominee Reception, which was held in North Hollywood on September 8. Organized by Governors Eboni Nichols and Mandy Moor, the red-carpet event was an exclusive reception in honor of nominees.
The event saw Mukund rubbing shoulders with big names from Hollywood. A visibly excited choreographer posted several pictures on his social media from the red-carpet event.
Other choreographers nominated in the category include Travis Wall and Luther Brown from So, You Think You Can Dance on Fox Network and Melvin Timtim, Karen Forcano and Ricardo Vega for NBC’s World of Dance.
Mukund’s extraordinary journey came to global spotlight when Kings United won the worlds’ most famous dance reality show. He led his Indian hip-hop group to global fame when the boys who belonged from modest backgrounds won the $1 million prize money.
