WASHINGTON, DC: Playback singer Shreya Ghoshal gave a scintillating performance at a concert held at the DAR Constitution Hall here, on Friday.
The concert, which also featured Rishikesh Ranade, a winner of the Marathi segment of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest, saw Ghoshal open her act with a hit song from the movie Ashiqui 2 – Sun raha hain na.
The delightful journey continued with some of her famous hits, such as Jadu hain nasha hain from Jism, Saans from Jab tak hain Jaan, Mashallah from Ek tha Tiger, Barso re from Guru, Radha from Student of the Year, Zoobi Doobi from 3 Idiots and Ooh La La from The Dirty Picture.
The fans kept hurling requests, asked her for repeat performances, and Ghoshal obliged. Her connection with the audience was amazing. It was not just her singing but also her personality which connected with the audience.
After a break, she kept up the tempo with some fast numbers like Chikni Chameli from Agneepath, and also soulful numbers like Tumhe mujh mein kahi from Agneepath.
She brought the beautiful evening to an end with some evergreen hits from the yesteryears like: Aawaz de kahan hain, Jaiye Aap kaha jayenge, Jalte hain jiske diye, Aage bhi jane na tu, Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega, Woh jab yaad aaye, Kabhi Kabhi mere dil mein. She finished the memorable concert singing the haunting song Tum Jo kehdo tho from the film Andhi.
