Eight Indian American-run firms in Top 100 Most Promising Companies in America.

WASHINGTON, DC: Forbes Magazine released its list of the Top 100 Most Promising Companies in America, a collection of privately-held firms with under $250 million annual revenue that display the most potential for growth, and eight of the featured companies are co-founded and run by Indian Americans.
The highest-ranked such company is WeddingWire, a Maryland-based event-oriented technology company with over $100 billion in revenue. The company came in at 27th place overall on the list, and is co-founded by Indian American Sonny Ganguly.
Prepay Nation, founded by Anurag Jain and Ajay Vikas Goyal in Pennsylvania, landed at 52nd on the list, which allows people to transfer small amounts of money to friends and family members via their mobile phones.
H Bloom in Washington, DC came in at 61st on the list, which offers flower delivery services for corporations and other large organizations and was co-founded by Sonu Panda. Two spots down from that, at number 63, is Gainsight, an IT software company co-founded by Sreedhar Peddineni and run by Nick Mehta.
At number 73 is online marketplace firm CourseHorse, co-founded and operated by Nihal Parthasarathi, which allows customers to shop for classes in all types of fields (cooking, music, etc.).
The next Indian American-owned company, PublicStuff, came in at 85. The company, whose CEO is Surya Yalamanchili, is based in New York and is an online forum provider for people to lodge complaints and engage with their local community.
The final two companies – Mixpo and PernixData – rounded out the list’s desi representation at 93 and 100, respectively. The former is a Seattle-based IT company co-founded by Anupam Gupta, while the latter is a San Jose-based IT company founded by Poojan Kumar and Satyam Veghani.
