Terry McAuliffe, Governor of Virginia (USA) continues his India visit on a business mission. He visited some companies in Bangalore in Karnataka state to understand business in the state and to analyze chances of growth with Virginia.
McAuliffe visited the headquarters of Uflex Ltd, and QuEST Global´s Bangalore Centre.
Sify quoted McAuliffe saying, “We are excited by the partnering potential with QuEST. We have multiple synergies that can be leveraged by the companies and colleges in Virginia by teaming with QuEST.”
His mission is to promote Virginia-based defense companies, who are in search of investment from foreign countries, especially from the Middle East.
“In 2008, India was Virginia’s 24th largest export destination, while today it is the 15th largest. This trip will enable us to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones,” McAuliffe said.
“Virginia is open for business and we want to ensure that companies in every region of the world know how great a place Virginia is to do business. I look forward to more economic successes on this mission like we have seen from our prior missions,” he added.
The first lady of Virginia Dorothy McAuliffe had also joined the mission, with efforts to promote tourism and the Virginia wine industry.
Earlier he visited Middle East countries and reached Mumbai on 15 November. Confederation of Indian Industry gave a warm reception to the Governor in Delhi.
McAuliffe had indicated that, though Republicans call for the state to close its doors to those fleeing war in Syria as a security precaution following terrorist attacks in Paris, Virginia would not be among the growing number of U.S. states seeking to block Syrian refugees.
The Governor’s marketing mission in India will conclude tomorrow.
