The US has informed the NIA that IP addresses of JeM Facebook handlers are located in Pakistan.
The United States has handed over evidence confirming the attack on Pathankot airbase emanated from Pakistan.
The US has informed the NIA that IP addresses of Facebook accounts of Jaish –e- Mohammed handlers who masterminded the January attack and IP address of the website of the outfit’s financial arm, Al Rahmat Trust, are located in Pakistan, Times Of India reports.
The report also says that FB groups accessed by friends of JeM handler Kashif Jaan were related to Jihad and JeM and contained photos of the four killed terrorists – Nasir Hussain, Hafiz Abu Baker, Umar Faroow and Abdul Qayum.
A heavily armed group attacked the Pathankot Indian Air Force Station on January 2,2016 killing six Indian security personnel.
India blamed Pakistan-based jihadi group Jaish-e-Mohammed for the brutal attack and two months ago the US asked Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice.
“The alleged JeM handler who communicated by telephone over two-dozen times with the terrorists in Pathankot before they carried out the attack on the airbase on January 2, has managed to cross into Afghan border,” the report quoted an official, who is part of the Joint Investigation Team probing the attack.
It was found that Jaan was using a Facebook account connected to the same mobile number which the attackers called from Pathankot after abducting Punjab police SP Salwinder singh. The terrorist had also called another number in Pakistan connected to the FB account of “Mulla Daadullah”. These accounts were accessed around the time of the attack using IP addresses of Pakistan-based telecom firms Telenor and Pakistan TeleCommunications Company Ltd.
Despite the Pathankot visit of the five-member JIT team of Pak Punjab government headed by CTD Additional Inspector General of Police Tahir Rai, no progress has been made in the investigation of Pakistan so far.
