‘An Unsuitable Boy’ was launched by Shah Rukh Khan on Monday.
Karan Johar and Kajol, who had known each other over two-decades-and-a-half, are no longer friends and the filmmaker has chronicled his fallout with Kajol in his autobiography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, which was launched Monday.
“Enough has been said about Kajol, especially since the excerpts were out. So I don’t want to say more, other than the fact that we had great history. I want to remember this history that we shared. We had nearly 25 years of our friendship. Somtimes chapters end, books end, relationships end,” IANS quoted Karan Johar at the launch of his book in Mumbai.
Last week, excerpts from the book were circulated on social media and it revealed what happened between Karan and Kajol.
“I don’t have a relationship with Kajol anymore. We have had a fallout. Something happened that disturbed me deeply which I will not talk about because it’s something that I like to protect and feel it would not be fair to her or to me. After two and half decades, Kajol and I don’t talk at all. We just acknowledge each other, say ‘hello’ and walk past,” Karan Johar wrote in ‘An Unsuitable Boy’.
“She’s killed every bit of emotion I had for her for 25 years. I don’t think she deserves me. I feel nothing for her anymore,” he wrote.
Karan blames Kajol’s husband, actor Ajay Devgn, who went on the offensive against Karan Johar’s film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ last year. Without dragging the other in the dirt, he revealed that it was when Kajol tweeted ‘Shocked!’ – pertaining to Karan bribing Kamaal R Khan to sabotage ‘Shivaay’ – that he knew his relationship with her was over.
“That tweet,” Karan Johar wrote in his book, “validated the insanity that she could believe I could bribe someone… She can never come back into my life. I don’t think she wants to either.”
The trio of Kajol, Karan and Shah Rukh Khan represented one of Bollywood’s dearest BFFs and dates back to ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, in which all three of them acted. Karan Johar Directed Kajol and SRK in his films ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’and the trio had created magic on silver screen.
