One of the world’s leading YouTuber Lilly Singh is back and this time tells about an Indian mother’s struggle to eventually immigrate to the United States.
The Super Woman rapping as a character of Paramjeet, her Indian mom and it has references to Indian childhoods, President Trump’s anti-immigration policies, and Priyanka Chopra.
“This video is dedicated to all the aunties who used to gossip behind my back and then bring ladoos to my house the next day, to the immigration officer who gave me hard time when I was trying to give better life to my family, han ji, and to all peoples in struggle, you know what I mean,” Singh said in her dedication message.
“The President wanna build a wall, cause I’m brown, I am like Chris Jericho, I’ll break the wall down.”
It continues: “I used to watch Priyanka Chopra in movies, now we having girls night and we popping booties.”
The video then goes to next level in which Singh raps to Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda in Trinidad and Tobageo. The third part was shot in Prague and Singh’s rap is on the beats of Kendrick Lamar’s Humble.
Captioned as If My Indian Mom Was A Rapper, the video was uploaded by Lily’s Superwoman handle on Monday and it has already garnered one million views and 146,252 likes.
