Jegeus felt the film is a clean entertainer.
Life has come to a turning point for filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. Earlier, the director was criticized for copying the films from Hollywood, but now his box office flick ‘Kaabil’ that starred Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautham is being adapted to a Hollywood film, reported Miss Kyra
The film that depicts the love affair between two blind people, played by Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautham was produced by renowned filmmaker Rakesh Roshan. According to latest reports, the film has found a taker in Hollywood, none other than 20th Century Fox.
It seems like the production house has procured the rights to the film and most probably it would be adapted to Hollywood soon.
Director Sanjay Gupta said that Tomas Jegeus, who is the president of Fox International Productions, approached Roshan and discussed the way forward. Even though the developments are too weak at this point he said it is a great honor for the Kaabilteam.
“The most delighted thing is that Kaabil has been declared as the best film of the first half of 2017 via online poll, so it is a double win for us,” Gupta added.
An insider who was a part of the meeting said that before his flight to New York, Roshan got a surprise call from Jegeus, because he wanted to buy the remake rights of Kaabil.
It is speculated that he felt the film is a clean entertainer and it has key ingredients for a great Hollywood film. It was reported that Roshan will discuss it with his father after returning from New York.
When it was asked to Rakesh Roshan (Hrithik Roshan’s father) for a confirmation on the same, the filmmaker said that the screenplay was honest and straightforward, and the drama was gripping. This would make for a wonderful Hollywood adaptation because it already has all the necessary emotions. It will fly high at the box office because it would have all the ingredients to become a blockbuster.
