Mahal also found time to interact and play cricket with some Special Olympics Bharat Kids.
Indo Canadian wrestler and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion Jinder Mahal, who arrived in India on Thursday ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Triple H, said he has prepared a game plan against the American wrestler.
Talking to news agency Asian News International (ANI), Mahal said, “I feel fully prepared and ready. Unfortunately, I had lost WWE Championship a couple of weeks ago but I learned from that loss. Triple H is very thoughtful, cunning and methodical and I cannot fall for his traps.”
“I do have a game plan and I believe I can match his speed for speed, power for power, technique for technique but the difference maker is the fact that the game is here in India and I have the support of Indian audience,” he added.
Mahal will take on Triple H at the WWE Supershow in New Delhi at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on December 9.
Mahal, the ‘Modern Day Maharaja’ is going all out to defeat Triple H in the much-awaited game. He spends hours in the gym and undergoes special training. Mahal has also trained with well-known Indian boxer Vijender Singh.
“Every day I put in 100 percent in the gym, in the ring, outside the ring. I had won the WWE Championship and worked hard to keep it for six months, which was the longest reign in the past two years. I am looking forward to win that championship again and go down in history as one of the all-time greats,” he said.
After reaching India, Mahal also found time to interact and play cricket with some Special Olympics Bharat Kids.
“It was awesome playing cricket with the Special Olympics team. So that was very cool and it was also very cool to meet them because they inspire me. Because when you see their attitude and the way that they have a passion for sports, for cricket, that’s inspiring to me,” he told India Today in an interview.
Mahal is the second wrestler of Indian descent, after the Great Khali, to win a world championship in the WWE. Khali had won the World Heavyweight Championship in 2007.
Mahal is the nephew of Indian professional wrestler Gama Singh and holds a business degree in communications and culture from the University of Calgary.
