An overnight car crash in Fishers, Indiana, has left two young men dead. The two men are identified as 22-year-old Davneet S. Chahal and 19-year-old Varundeep S. Bring, both from Fishers residents.
The crash happened overnight at around 2.30 am on Wednesday. The accident occurred between Cumberland and Hoosier roads in Fishers. The car driven by one of the deceased crashed into a tree and one of the men was thrust out of the car.
According to the sheriff’s office, the men were trapped inside the car when the crash happened. The toxicology reports are still pending and rest of the investigations are on.
The deaths have left the local Sikh community in Indiana under a spell of gloom. Both crash victims are remembered by neighbors and friends as remarkable young men.
“Whole City of Fishers, especially the Sikh community is shocked and heartbroken to hear the tragic death of two young boys, Davneet Singh Chahal and Varundeep Singh Bring, in a fatal car accident,” said prominent Sikh activist and founder of SikhsPAC Gurinder Singh Khalsa. “The loss is unfathomable and irrecoverable. Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow and grief of the loss. We are praying for the departed souls to rest in peace.”
Both men who died were front seat passengers of the SUV. However, a third passenger on the backseat survived the crash. He has been identified as 20-year-old Gurjot S. Sandhu, who has been shifted to the St. Vincent Hospital.

Rest in peace. One of these young men was a friend of one of my kids. My heart aches for their families. Remind your kids to buckle up.
