More than a dozen Division 1 schools have shown interest in the Coppel High junior, a four-star recruit.
He still has at least 19 more months to graduate from high school. But Indian American high school basketball prospect Ryan Agarwal has already started getting offers from some of the nation’s top universities.
The latest schools to offer scholarship to him are Harvard University and Stanford University.
“Excited to receive an offer from Harvard University from Coach Amaker and the rest of the Harvard staff!!” Agarwal tweeted on Sunday afternoon. On Monday night, the teenager followed up with another tweet: “Extremely blessed to receive an offer from Stanford University!!!”
The Harvard Crimsons and Stanford Cardinals are a part of a growing list of D1 schools interested in the four-star recruit.
Among them are offers from Rice University, Oklahoma State University, and Howard University.

Last month, Agarwal told the basketball website Endless Motors that schools such as Vanderbilt, Princeton, Western Kentucky, Marquette, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Florida State, Baylor and Virginia Tech “are showing interest” in recruiting him.
In the interview, the teenager made it clear what he would look for in a school. He said, “A good relationship with the coaching staff is a big factor for me. Also skill development to hopefully prepare me for playing at the next level. Academics are big for my family and I as well.”
“I’d have to say Rice and Texas A&M are recruiting me the hardest right now,” he said.
The 6’6, 175 pound small forward is currently the 104th ranked player in the nation in the class of 2022, according to 247 Sports Composite Ranking. He is ranked as the 19th best player at his position in the nation and the 9th best player in the state of Texas.
A junior at Coppel High School in Coppel, Texas, Agarwal received a First Team selection to the Texas 6-6A All-District Team for the 2019-2020 season after leading the Coppel Cowboys to a 29-6 record and winning the District championship.
Agarwal still has plenty of time to weigh his options and receive more scholarships, as he won’t graduate from high school until 2022.
