As first recipient, Dr Akshat Banga starts training at Falcon Advanced Neurology Medical Center in Orlando
Doctors of Rajasthan International (DORI) Foundation has started an ambitious project to help Rajasthani origin medical students and graduates to pursue residency/fellowship training in international medical programs in the USA, Canada, UK, EU and Australia.
As the first recipient under Doctor’s Overseas Training (DORI – DOST) Program, Dr Akshat Banga of SMS Medical College Jaipur has started his clinical training (Externship) in neurology at the Falcon Advanced Neurology Medical Center in Orlando, Florida owned by Dori Foundation President Dr Jaivir Singh Rathore.
About 50 medical students, interns from most medical colleges of Rajasthan are currently registered with this program. It’s a free service and anyone interested in availing these servicing may get in touch with team Dori by visiting dorifoundation.com, according to a media release.
Conceived in July 2020 during the Covid-19 crisis, DORI was started by a few and now grown to more than 100 doctors of Rajasthan origin living overseas primarily in the USA, Canada, UK, EU, UAE, Tajikistan, Singapore and Australia.

These doctors who came together to help fellow Rajasthanis by working with the Rajasthan state government during the pandemic formed this not for profit duly registered society under the auspices of the Rajasthan Foundation.
Dori also held a zoom virtual conference on Mahatma Gandhi’s Oct 2 birth anniversary to discuss various aspects of careers in foreign countries involving examinations, pathways and future career opportunities.
DORI foundation members and panelists from all over the globe along with medical students and graduates from various medical colleges of Rajasthan and faculties of SMS Medical College participated in the panel moderated by the Dori General Secretary Hargovind Rana of Germany.
DORI Foundation is also organizing a series of workshops from Oct. 5 to 10 called ‘Life of A Doctor” in various government and private high schools of Jaipur led by DORI executive committee member Dr. Kusum Nathawat, to help the state in the field of healthcare and medical education.
As its first initiative, the foundation held a visiting Dori Doctor’s Lecture Series with the first lecture on March 31 at the SMS Medical College by Dr. Rathore, a Johns Hopkins Neurologist, Co-Chairman, Epilepsy Foundation of America (Florida).
This was followed by inauguration of the “Call Dori” program by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on May 22 in which any Rajasthani can avail free medical e-consultation using an app (Wondrx) which has revolutionized the healthcare access specially in remote areas of the state, the release said.
