Historic event at the US Capitol in Washington on Sep 14 to showcase India’s unique culture and diversity
In a historic event, 75 Indian American associations plan to showcase India’s unique culture and diversity to celebrate 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence at the US Capitol in Washington DC on Sep 14.
To be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, “this unique event will be a hallmark in the festivity of India’s independence,” said Dr. Jashvant Patel, CEO of the US Indian Relationship Council, President of Sardar Patel Fund for Sanatan Sanskruti, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

Bringing together 75 organizations representing all states of the US and showcasing India’s unique culture and diversity, it will offer diaspora bodies “an opportunity to remember India’s rich tradition, its heroes, people, and their achievements,” he said.
Indian ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, will be the guest of honor. The celebration will bring many lawmakers, senators, congressmen and CEOs.
Isaac Newton Farris Jr, Congressman Brad Sherman, Michelle Steel, Frank Pallone, Buddy Carter, Aman Sinha, senior Supreme court lawyer will be among notable guests.
Also joining the celebration will be Pandit Sandeep Mahavir, renowned Kathak dancer and choreographer, Swaradhish Dr. Bharat Mohan Balvalli, playback singer and Indian Idol fame Bhavya Pandit, Ustad Kadar Khan and Kalavant center.
Indian American community has significantly contributed to America in the past 75 years, the release noted. Their achievements include advancements in healthcare, technology, human rights, sustainability and environmental health.
Innovation is at the forefront, and the US and India, the oldest and largest democracies, respectively, have worked together to further the
relationship in many areas.

Many notable Indian Americans are entrepreneurs, CEOs, lawmakers/elected officials, leading doctors, scientists, technologists, students, and working professionals.
They have contributed to the innovations and have been at the forefront of cementing the relationship between India and the United States, it said.
