Sanjay Leela Bhansali to break his own record, set with Devdas.

NEW DELHI: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is leaving no stone unturned to make his dream project Bajirao Mastani as authentic as possible. He is reportedly ready to spend a staggering amount of INR 210 crores on the project. With this budget, the film will be tagged as the costliest film in Bollywood ever.
The film is set in the background of the Maratha regime so it will have real looking sets to match that period. It is said that the clothes for the lead cast will woven by the same thread used in that period.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The clothes, jewellery, armoury, locations and sets would be as authentic as possible. There will be no compromise on quality. In terms of scale and pitch, Sanjay Bhansali’s role model for his historical in Bajirao Mastani is K. Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam.”
Bhansali’s films have vast sets with lavish detail. The costliest film ever made in Bollywood till now has been Bhansali’s Devdas, which was made at a staggering Rs. 65 crores, a huge sum when it was made.
Bajirao Mastani is all set to take off end of this year after experiencing a long delay of 10 years. The film will be co-produced by Bhansali and Eros International and will feature prominent actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Rumors are that for maintaining the aura of the film Ranveer has decided to learn Marathi.
