BENGALURU: After launching a series of low-cost smartphones, the Indian manufacturer Micromax has now come up with a new tablet named Canvas Tab P666 for a price of Rs. 10,999.
The new tablet is aimed at youngsters who like to spend more time reading e-books, playing games and watching movies. Canvas Tab P666 is equipped with best of its class hardware features, allowing users to shuffle seamlessly between work and play.
Canvas Tab is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. Intel Atom Processor also features Hyper-Threading Technology and Burst Performance Technology, enabling the users to Multi-Task on the tablet seamlessly.
The new Micromax tablet has an 8 inch (20.32 Cm) WXGA IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. Micromax has used Intel’s Graphics Media Accelerator for improving the graphic display of Canvas Tab.
The design of Canvas Tab P666 is a mix of what we have seen in Nexus 9 and some entry level models of Samsung’s tablet. The device is just 7.9 mm thick with an aluminium rim on the sides and a glass finish, giving it a premium look. The tab is available in two colors: Magnetic Black and Alluring White.
The new Canvas Tab also features a 5 MP rear camera capable of recording videos in Full HD 1080 P and a 2 MP front camera for video conferencing and selfies. The tablet also has an inbuilt storage capacity of 8 GB, expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card.
The tablet has a slew of connectivity features like 3G, WiFi, Voice Call, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and OTG to keep the user connected 24×7.
Micromax Canvas Tab P666 runs on the previous version of Android OS, KitKat 4.4. Users can experience features such as Voice search by saying ‘Okay, Google’ and All conversations at Hangouts app.
The device also comes with pre-loaded android apps like True Caller, Hike, Swift Key and a few games such as Gravity, Grow Away and Where’s my Perry.
The device is backed up by a sturdy 4400mAh battery giving up to 15 hours talk time and 325 hours of standby time.
