Khan to share space with Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren.

NEW YORK: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan will be a featured participant at the Sixth Annual Women in the World Summit in New York, presented by Tina Brown Live Media in association with The New York Times.
The meet will be held at the David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center, in Manhattan, over the course of three days, April 22-24.
The organizers describe the meet as: “The struggles and triumphs of women and girls around the globe come to life in this dynamic three-day summit. World leaders, industry icons, movie stars, and CEOs convene with artists, rebels, peacemakers and activists to tell their stories and share their plans of action.”
Khan, also the creator-host of the award-winning TV talk show Satyamev Jayate, which tackles social issues that plague India – and the reason why he has found a place in the featured list of participants, is not the only participant from India though. Joining him at the meet will be Padmasree Warrior, CTO of Cisco.
The other high-profile participants listed are:
- Helen Mirren, Academy Award-winning actress who stars on Broadway in the upcoming play ‘The Audience.
- Ava DuVernay, director of Selma Christiane Amanpour, host of CNN International’s Amanpour.
- Ellen Kullman, CEO of DuPont
- Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, director of the St. Monica’s Girls Tailoring Centre in Gulu, Uganda
- Meryl Streep, Academy Award-winning actress featured in the upcoming movie ‘Suffragette’
- Elif Shafak, the most widely-read woman writer in Turkey
- Manal al-Sharif, the Saudi activist behind the campaign to allow women to drive.
