A mobile banking app launched by an Indian American banker and his daughter could revolutionize the global banking industry by leading it into completely phone based banking system.
Bankers Jay Sidhu and his daughter Luvleen Sidhu gave a presentation of BankMobiles, a leading edge banking app, at an event of Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Industry in downtown Reading, PA, this week, wfmz.com reported.
BankMobile, a division of Customers Bank, was developed through crowd-sourced feedback and is aimed at disrupting the current banking experience to make it more effortless, enjoyable and financially empowering.
Speaking to Bizwomen earlier, Luvleen Sidhu, chief strategy and marketing officer of BankMobiles, has said, “BankMobile is a bank that our customers have asked for, whether they realize it, or not. This is a compilation of years of frustration with brick-and-mortar banks, exorbitant fees and poor customer service. Our goal was to give customers all they crave in the palm of their hands. We believe in banking responsibly, and we want our potential customers to know that we are by their sides.”
The app allows customers to deposit checks, pay bills and transfer money using cell phone number or email address, and check balances without logging in.
During the first phase launch, Jay Sidhu, chairman and CEO of Customers Bank, had said, “Innovation has stalled in the banking industry; while the rest of the world is in the digital age, banking remains stagnant. We are here to change this and bring banking to the 21st century.”
BankMobile is a division of Customers Bank and is based in Wyomissing, Pa.
