Startup 3rdiTEK wants to enter the arena of wearable tech.

Not to be discouraged by the public’s apathetic response to Google Glass, startup 3rdiTEK is moving forward with their plan for their own wearable tech, the 3RDi.
Based out of Montreal, the company launched an Indiegogo campaign on Tuesday in an effort to gain the capital needed to produce 3RDi, which is essentially a high-definition camera with autofocus that straps to the middle of the user’s head.
Consumers can tap the headband to take photos and then post them directly to their social media medium of choice.
A company spokesman told CNet the 3RDi will succeed where Google Glass failed because of its adaptability.
“Google Glass is not the best social or fashionable pieces of techwear. It’s geeky. It’s a technology that hampers the user since it needs its constant attention,” the spokesman said. He added that the “the versatility of the 3RDi is amazing. You can play basketball and capture your game. It’s basically like comparing a PC (Google Glass) and a Mac (3RDi).”
3rdiTEK believes that its creation allows you to “capture your life instantly and easily while enjoying the present moment.”
The makers of the 3RDi stressed to CNet that the model currently being touted is a prototype and that the ultimate product — should they raise the $250,000 they’re asking for — will be a lot more stylish.
At the time of writing, there’s only $248,900 to go.
