Sushant Singh Rajput announced on Monday that he will not be doing the role of Madhav Jha, the Bhojpuri-laced Hindi speaking boy from Bihar, in the upcoming movie “Half Girlfriend”, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name.
Director Mohit Suri announced the name of Rajput as the lead actor in “Half Girlfriend” barely a month back. Now he will have to once again go searching for a lead actor as Rajput backed out of the project citing date issues.
Rajput said, “It’s unfortunate. I was excited about working with Ekta again, but the dates didn’t work out. The team wanted the same dates as that of Dinno’s film (Dinesh Vijan’s untitled film) which I will be doing next. I had committed the dates (for the film) long back and hence, had no option but to pull out of the project.”
A few days back, the first look of the upcoming movie of Rajput, directed by Dinesh Vijan was released and the actor will be seen romancing Kriti Sanon, who is the lead female actor in the movie.
As of now, there is no confirmation regarding who will play the female lead in Half Girlfriend. Till recently, the names of Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon were speculated but the makers rubbished the reports saying that they are yet to zero down on a name.
Now with Rajput out from the movie, the makers of “Half Girlfriend” will have to start the star hunt right from the beginning.
