In a shocking incident, a Bhutan national was gang raped in Bengaluru by three men.
One of the men, whom the victim knew for years, invited her to an apartment near Electronic City on Sunday night and raped her along with his two friends. The police have arrested the three men after the 26-year-old woman filed a complaint, reported The Times of India.
The men were identified as Mukhtiar, Khadim, and Babu, and are employees of a hotel in Electronic City.
The police said that the men were her acquaintance and they met at a common friend’s apartment for a birthday party. After the party, one of the men took her to a shop when she was looking for a place to buy cigarettes. From there he invited her to their apartment and from there she was allegedly gang raped.
They dropped her back home after the incident and threatened her not to tell anybody about it.
On the night itself, the girl filed a complaint with the police leading to the arrest.
“The very day, she lodged a complaint with us and we formed a team to nab the suspects based on the information provided by her. And they were arrested from Electronic City,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying by Times of India.
The girl was working in a beauty parlor in Hebbagodi, and the men are from Karimganj district in Assam.
Last October, a call-center girl was gang raped in a moving mini-bus at knife-point by the driver and his assistant.
In another incident, a 30-year old was allegedly raped by two security guards manning a tennis club in Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park last November.
