Lochbuie police have arrested a Colorado woman who abused her child after a video showing the cruelty of the woman towards the child was posted on YouTube.
“In regards viral video an arrest has been made and the child is safe in protective custody,” tweeted the police.
The video was first posted on Facebook by a neighbor of the woman who allegedly abused her two-year-old child. In the video, the woman is seen cursing the child and threatens to kill him multiple times while he screams.
The incident happened in April was shot by a woman who witnessed the incident. She asked her friend to report the incident to police as she was scared. But, she decided to shoot the video and post it on Facebook when she felt that the police was not taking appropriate action.
“She kept going on and on that ‘I’m, you know, I’m a good mother,’ and I said this is not being a good mother,” the woman whose identity is kept anonymous told Denver Channel.
“In the playpen she was actually physically beating him with her fist, and she was beating him. Then she grabbed the high chair, it sits on a seat a regular seat and she grabbed it and she was pounding it on him like over and over and over again,” she added.
The woman didn’t interfere when the incident happened as she is disabled. She was also afraid of her own life and her 17-year-old son.
“The case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office for prosecution,” Lochbuie Police Chief Tracey McCoy was quoted as saying by Denver Channel.
The boy’s father found the video a few days ago and is trying to get the custody of the boy. District attorney is investigating the incident.
Several media houses including Denver Channel and FOX31 Denver have taken up the issue and many viewers have responded to the video seeking action against the woman.
