A Saudi Arabia man was arrested for shooting at a male gynecologist for helping his wife’s delivery.
The doctor, Muhannad Al Zabn, works at the King Fahad hospital in the capital city of Riyadh. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital, reported Saudi news site Sabq.
According to media reports, the Saudi man’s wife gave birth to a baby at the hospital a month ago. The man went to the hospital on Wednesday to meet the doctor on the pretext of thanking him.
He took out a gun he had kept under his clothes and fired bullets at the Jordanian doctor while they were talking in the garden of the hospital. The doctor was immediately taken to the emergency department and then to the intensive care unit.
The police arrested the culprit soon after he escaped from the spot. The unidentified man said that a female doctor should have assisted his wife instead of the male doctor.
King Fahad hospital spokesperson Bassam Al Buraikan said that the doctor’s condition is stable.
