Sonakshi Sinha is all set to surprise fans with her new avatar in ‘Akira.’ The official trailer of the much-awaited movie which was released on Monday is above all expectations and assures some blood boiling moments when it hit theaters in September this year.
The trailer gives several glimpses of Sonakshi bringing out her fighting talents. Born in Jodhpur, Akira moves to Mumbai to pursue higher studies and it changes her life.
While she tries to forget the bad memories of disturbing childhood, she is being dragged into confrontation with her college mates and finally into a crime which poses a threat to her life. She decides to fight back when somebody tries to hunt her down.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is the remake of the 2011 Tamil film ‘Mouna Guru’. The trailer was released on Monday evening at the Lala Lajpat Rai College in Mumbai.
Speaking at the event, Sonakshi said, “I am really happy to be part of the film where a woman is doing so much action, it’s a path breaker. I feel all powered-up to punch someone now.”
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap plays the role of villain. Konkona Sen Sharma also plays an important role of the police officer who investigates the crime.
Sonakshi took to Twitter to announce the release of the trailer. “bit.ly/AkiraTrailer-FB NOW NOW NOW…. Tell me what u think!!! Eeee… #AkiraTrailer,” she tweeted.
Surprised by the impressive performance of Sonakshi, actor Ajay Devgn tweeted, “if you start doing action kickass like this @sonakshisinha, what will happen to us?”
