After Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Udta Punjab’ was leaked last month, movie piracy syndicate has allegedly targeted the most awaited movie of the year, ‘Sultan’, starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma.
The online leak of ‘Sultan’ came just a day before its release in over 4,500 screens across India. According to Cyber experts, the movie was leaked on the darknet and is yet not available on torrent.
This is the second incident in a week with Indra Kumar’s multi starrer film Great Grand Masti’s Censor Board Copy being leaked online three days ago.
“The leak is confirmed. The copy of the movie is available on the darknet and soon it will be available on torrent” Indiatoday.com quoted cyber-crime expert Deep Shankar.
Another crime investigator, Kislay Chaudhary, reportedly claimed that the links of the two hours 36 minute-long movie are available and shared the screenshots with the same media house.
“Many websites have been blocked since Tuesday evening and links are removed immediately after uploads,”Choudhary said.
However, Yash Raj films have denied any information about the leakage. Some cyber experts claimed that there are no active link of the movie and it was the trailer that was morphed and circulated online.
“Great Grand Masti has been definitely leaked, but no active links of Sultan’s censor copy can be found online. However sources are saying that there has been a leak and that the movie was available for some time but was pulled down immediately,” cyber security expert Nitish Chandan said.
The management of the movie ‘Great Grand Masti’, starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivadasani and Uravashi Rautela, is reportedly working hard to remove the links and even tweets and Facebook links sharing the same are being taken down.
The movie was leaked 17 days before its release and is reported to have faced monetary losses as a result.
