Who wants to honor the economist by chowing down some regional favorites?
As the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan quits office on September 4, a Bengaluru-based food company has announced two novel dishes to its customers to celebrate the legacy of the economist.
Zzungry, the food company that offers chef prepared food on demand has announced that limited edition of two dishes “Ulundu kozhukattai” and “Kova kozhukattai” will be available on the menu from August 26 to September 2.
The dishes are inspired by the cuisines of two Indian states which are closely connected with Rajan’s life, reported the Press Trust of India.
“This is a unique gesture from Zzungry to appreciate the commendable work done by Dr. Rajan. He has touched the lives of commoners and entrepreneurs like us in a positive way,” said Ashish Kalya, Co- Founder, Zzungry.
Ulundu Kozhukattai is a delectable savory rice flour dumpling stuffed with medium spicy mixture of urad dal, tempered with curry leaves and spices, steamed and served with chutney.
The dish is inspired by the cuisine of Madhya Pradesh where the RBI governor was born.
“Kova kozhukattai” is a sweet rice flour dumpling stuffed with cardamom flavored mixture of khoya with dry fruits, simmered in rose flavored milk, that is served as a dessert.
The dish is inspired by the cuisine of Tamil Nadu that connects to his origin. Rajan was born into a Tamil family.
Ulundu Kozhukattai and Kova kozhukattai are priced at Rupees 100 and Rupees 150, respectively.
Rajan will complete his tenure as the 23rd governor of the Reserve Bank of India on September 4.
