WASHINGTON, DC: The U.S Senate passed the comprehensive immigration bill Thursday. Here are some key numbers in the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, also known as S.744.
68-32: The number of senators voted for and against the bill, championed by the so-called Gang of Eight senators.
100 percent: The percentage of Senate Democrats voted in favor of the bill.
1,200: The number of pages of the bill.
11 million: The number of undocumented immigrants who will benefit if the bill becomes law.
13 years: The time it would take for the undocumented immigrants to get citizenship once they fulfill all conditions.
$46.3 billion: The money to be spent for securing the U.S-Mexican border as per the bill.
20,000: The number of federal agents to be stationed on the southern border.
700 miles: The length of the fence to be built under the Senate bill.
180,000: The new annual cap for H-1B visas under the Senate bill.
$10,000: The cost of H-1B visas for large companies that employ 50 or more employees in the United States and have more than 50 percent of their employees on H-1B or L-1 visas.
