NEW YORK: Fashion designer Naeem Khan and his wife, jewelry designer Ranjana Khan, hosted a cocktail soiree at their studio in Manhattan to raise money for a New York-based NGO, which also saw a showcase of Khan’s stunning Fall creations.
The event raised around $18,000 for Wishwas, courtesy of Ranjana Khan, who donated multiple pieces of jewelry from her collection, and Naeem Khan who put himself up on auction for a dinner date, and matched one of the items up for bid, which raised around $5,000. Ranjana Khan is the Board Chair of the organization.
Naeem Khan is an Indian-born American fashion designer who has styled celebrities such as Beyonce, Penelope Cruz, Eva Longoria, Debra Messing and many others. Another fan of Khan’s exquisite designs is First Lady Michelle Obama, who turned up at the Oscars this year in one of his creations.
The event was hosted by former Miss India America, Melanie Kannokada. Aatma Performing Arts showcased a traditional dance piece to entertain the audience.
