Vishal Krishna Reddy, popularly known by his screen name Vishal, plays the role of a man suffering from narcolepsy, a neurological sleep disorder which affects the normal sleeping pattern and makes one fall asleep when emotions such as anger, sorrow, and happiness are triggered.
The teaser of this film released Wednesday morning. It shows Vishal fainting very often when he comes across emotions like anxiety, joy, fear, sorrow and anger.
Lakshmi Menon plays the female protagonist in the film, while Iniya, Saranya Ponvannan, Jayaprakash, Sunder Ramu and Jagan have significant roles to play. The story has been written by Thiru, who happens to be the director too and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Vishal. The credit for music composition goes to G. V. Prakash Kumar and Richard.
Although a fixed date has not been announced as of now, the makers are eyeing an April 2014 release keeping in mind ‘Kochadaiyaan’s’ release date.
On the other, Fox Star Studio’s ‘Cuckoo’ is a love-story tale of two visually impaired characters, Thamizh (played by Attakathi Dinesh) and Sudhanthirakodi (played by Malavika Nair). Co-produced by The Next Big Films Production, this Tamil film marks the debut of Raja Murugan as a director, who earlier assisted director Lingusamy with ‘Bhima’ (2008) and ‘Paiyaa’ (2010).
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who unveiled the first look of the film in January 2014, the film has been crafted with details in comparison to what one finds in a novel. “Going by the trailer, I’m impressed with the film. The intricate detailing that I observed in novels is evident in it”, said Haasan, on Wednesday, at the film’s launch.
Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for ‘Cuckoo’ whereas P. K. Varma is the director of photography. It is tentatively scheduled for a June 2014 release.
