24 Frames Factory will release Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rowdy.’

WASHINGTON, DC: Popular Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu is launching a new arm of the 24 Frames Factory distribution company in the US, the first release of which will be Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film Rowdy.
24 Frames Factory is based in Hyderabad, where it is operated by Manchu (who also founded the company, and is currently its CEO) and his father, Telugu screen legend Dr. M. Mohan Babu. The US-based arm is stationed in New Jersey, where it is already operational and is gearing up for the release of Varma’s new film. The company is also reportedly working towards opening another office in Los Angeles, the film-making capital of the US.
“Given the hunger for Indian films that are made by independent film makers and production companies like us, and the fact we are now financing a large proportion of productions, we no longer see the value working with other distributors,” said Manchu, in a press release, explaining the reasons for expanding the production house into the US. “Setting up a distribution arm is a natural progression for 24 Frames Factory’s business expansion and growth as a media and entertainment powerhouse globally.”
The 24 Frames Factory website lists only one prior film credit to its name: the 2011 film Vasthadu Naa Raju. Also starring Manchu, the film was the first Telugu picture shot entirely with digital video cameras. The company also has several Telugu television serials to its name, such as “Happy Days” and the “Lakshmi Talk Show.”
Their latest venture, Rowdy, is set to open on Friday, April 4 in both the US and India, and stars both Manchu and Babu. It’s the latest film from Varma, the writer, producer, and director known for his violent and often controversial films, including Company and the Sarkarfilms.
