WASHINGTON, DC: Green Energy Nevada, LLC, run by Chief Operating Officer Arvind Nair, has been approved to open a brand-new facility in Hawthorne, Nevada that will create anywhere between 500 and 1,000 jobs.
The $20 million organic poultry and egg facility will begin training its new staff this coming May, and will focus specifically on hiring workers who are veterans and/or disabled, looking to create new opportunities for locals who have struggled to find work over the past several years, according to Nair.
Known as “America’s Patriotic Home,” Hawthorne is a small town located in the western part of the state, near southern California, with a population of just over 3,000. But with the population declining in recent years, the town has needed something to jump-start itself – the new poultry plant may be just the thing.
Green Energy Nevada is a company that develops processes for green energy, environmental, and ecological solutions, and is responsible for building the facility, which will be very energy efficient in addition to boosting the local economy. The plant was waiting on final approval from the Mineral County Board of County Commissioners and the Planning Commission before it could begin producing its poultry and eggs; now that it has, it will begin full-scale production within the next three months.
“We believe by developing a reliable supply chain filled with healthier products and most likely at lower prices as well as proximity and business structure in Nevada,” said Nair, in a press release. “Such an alliance will be a tremendous boost to Nevada’s economy.”
A grand graduation ceremony for the first set of employees at the new factory is being planned for May 17, 2014, which will coincide with Hawthorne’s local Armed Forces Day.
