BANGALORE: With only a few days to go for his next film Ek Villain, in which he plays an anti-hero, Sidharth Malhotra, one of Bollywood’s most promising new faces, will host a TV show as a tribute to all the great villains of Bollywood.
Bollywood has quite the history with its bad boys and Sidharth’s new show will surely be a perfect way to salute these baddies.
“It is my first venture into Indian television space and I am excited to host the show. I am honoured to be part of discovering Bollywood’s iconic villains. We as actors draw inspiration from our seniors and veterans and I am lucky I have received this opportunity to learn more about their journey hands-on,†said Sidharth, according to an IBNLive report.
Sources say that in this TV show, named Ek Villain Ek Daastan, Sidharth will be taking the viewers through the lives of all the yesteryear actors who have, through their career, played some iconic villains of the industry.
When one thinks about villains in Bollywood the immediate name that comes to mind is Gabbar Singh for Sholay played by Amjad Khan, closely followed by Mogambo of Mr. India played by Amrish Puri. Both Amjad and Puri are well known villains of the Hindi film industry. So it goes without saying that they will be focused upon in this show. Other than them there will be Gulshan Grover, Shakti Kapoor, Ranjeet, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sanjay Dutt, Danny Danzongapa, Prem Chopra, Ajit and Pran who will be focused on in Ek Villain Ek Daastan.
The show will bring together the individual filmographies of these actors, their on-screen memories, their off-screen adventures, and obviously will recall some of their epic dialogues.
Ek Villain Ek Daastan will premiere on Zoom channel on June 23, only four days before the release of Ek Villain which will not only have Sidharth with a spot of villainy in his character but also Riteish Deshmukh as a Bollywood baddie for the first time.
