Leaving some magic for their personal lives.

WASHINGTON, DC: Actress Freido Pinto, whose big break came in the 2008 Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, has vowed never to work with her co-star in that film, Dev Patel.
In an interview with US Weekly, Pinto (29) explained that the reason was not out of hostility – in fact, she and Patel (24) have been romantically involved since they shot Slumdog Millionaire – but because they want to keep their chemistry off-screen.
“I think we created all the magic that was needed for one film. We’re leaving the rest of the magic for our personal lives,” said Pinto, in the US Weekly interview.
That news may come as a disappointment to fans of Slumdog Millionaire, who are legion the world over. But in Pinto’s defense, there are plenty of Hollywood couples who met while working on a movie and never worked together again.
Most famously, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of 2005’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The affair, which created headlines at the time and still makes the entertainment pages on a regular basis, led to the couple moving in together and having several children, but the two superstars have yet to pair up again on the big screen.
Other big Hollywood couples who shared the screen only once include Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith in Ali, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively inGreen Lantern, and Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum, who met on the set of the original Step Up. On the other end of the spectrum, however, were Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, who met on the set of The Big Sleep and starred in four movies together.
Pinto is currently gearing up to shoot Desert Dancer, in which she plays an Iranian heroin addict, and will also be seen in Terrence Malick’s long-in-production Knight of Cups alongside Christian Bale. Patel, meanwhile, will be seen on the final season of HBO’s “The Newsroom,” and is preparing to star with Jeremy Irons in a biopic of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Lauren Bacall was a teenager when she met Humphrey Bogart on the set of the first film they starred in together: To Have and Have Not, not The Big Sleep which came later.
