Dr. Krishna V. Bhaskarabhatla is the founder of Surya Health Care.

NEW YORK: The New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP) elected Indian American doctor Krishna V. Bhaskarabhatla at the organization’s annual Summer Celebration and Scientific Assembly ceremony in Atlantic City last month.
Bhaskarabhatla was elected by fellow members on June 13, according to information on the NJAFP website. It is the culmination of his years-long tenure with the NJAFP; previously, Bhaskarabhatla served as the Chairman of the NJAFP Quality Metrics Committee, as the NJAFP Secretary, and on its Board of Directors.
As the President of NJAFP, he will work to further the organization’s goal of “[transforming] the primary care practice environment such that Family Medicine is the specialty of choice in NJ, ensuring an adequate supply of Family Physicians to care for the citizens of our state.â€
He is currently the owner of Surya Health Care, and specializes as a Family Physician and as an Internist. He has been practicing in the state of New Jersey for nearly 20 years, and is currently at the Surya Health Center facility in Woodland Park, where he treats patients along with the help of his wife, Kausalya Chennapragada, who is also a physician.
Additionally, Bhaskarabhatla is the Associate Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program and St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, based in Clifton, New Jersey. According to his LinkedIn page, the position is a new one for Bhaskarabhatla, who assumed the position earlier this year. He is also on the faculty of the New York Medical Center in Valhalla, and the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
According to US News & World Report, Bhaskarabhatla earned his Medical Doctorate degree from the Andhra Medical College NTR in 1981, has been practicing for 33 years, and is Board-certified in Family Medicine. He is currently based in West Paterson, New Jersey.
