BANGALORE: Bollywood actress-turned-producer Dia Mirza has announced that she will finally marry her long-time boyfriend Sahil Sangha in October.
Mirza and Sangha only recently got engaged, back in April of this year, but the Bollywood starlet confirmed to the media that she will be tying the knot with her lover and business partner in just three months’ time. The marriage will be yet another momentous event for Mirza, who is having quite a strong year already.
Mirza is a co-producer on the recently released film Bobby Jasoos, starring Vidya Balan, which hit screens on July 4 to strong reviews and healthy box office receipts. Producing is a new venture for Mirza, but the success ofBobby Jasoos indicates that the actress and former model can prolong her career behind the camera, and perhaps even make occasional appearances in front of it, too.
She made her Bollywood debut in 2001’s Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, which saw her win a number of industry debutante awards, and quickly parlayed the success of that film into a string of lead roles that landed her only limited box office success. Over the last several years, she has been largely absent from the screen, aside from the rare role here and there.
Now, with her and Sangha’s Born Free Entertainment production house, Mirza can stay relevant within Bollywood, and is already looking for future films to produce. But with regards to her wedding, she says she wants to keep the details private, playing things close to the vest so that the actual event will be a surprise.
