NEW DELHI: After her comeback with the critically acclaimed film English Vinglish, playing the role of a perfect housewife who lacks the skill of speaking English and tries hard to be the woman her husband and children want, the sizzling diva Sridevi is going to now play the role of a step-mother.
The film, to be produced by her husband Boney Kapoor, will revolve around a tumultuous relationship between a step-mother and her step-daughter.
Kapoor is super excited about the project, and was quoted in Bollywood Hungama as saying, ‘I’ve been on the look-out for a subject for Sri for a very long time. Nothing seemed to be right. She has played everything that she could possibly play. I had to find something unusual for her. I think I’ve found the right subject.’
The shooting for the project will begin from January 15 next year. The hunt is on for the 18 years-old girl who will be playing the role of Sridevi’s step-daughter. Kapoor wants a fresh face for the role.
In the meanwhile, before starting the shoot for her husband’s production, Sridevi will complete a Tamil film directed by Chimbu Devan. The shoot for the film will begin in November, where she plays a queen. The film will also feature Tamil superstar Vijay and Kannada star Sudeep.
Meanwhile, English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde is planning to team up with Sridevi for another project. Gauri has confirmed that the film will be a social comedy, but not a sequel to English Vinglish.
