NEW DELHI: Chennai Express turned out to be 2013’s biggest blockbuster. Since then, director Rohit Shetty wanted to work with Shah Rukh Khan again. And now, that time has come. The actor-director duo are collaborating for yet another film that will go on the floors in the second half of 2015.
Though Shetty has curtly maintained silence over the film and the casting, he says that it is no remake of any film and that it is an original script. Other than that he does not want to divulge any details; even keeping the genre of the film under wrap. Rohit says that the details of the rest of the cast will be finalized, once the script is ready.
Some reports say the film is a three heroes project and Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have been considered as parallel heroes. Rohit has cleared the air on that rumor.
“I’d like to put all rumors to rest and say that only Shah Rukh has confirmed for my next film. No one else has been roped in as of now. The pre-production for the film has already started and it will go on floors next year,” said Rohit in a recent interview.
He is currently working on the script for the film with the writer Sajid Farhad, who in a recent interview said that Rohit’s next with Shah Rukh will be a special film and SRK’s character in the film will have the same impact as Amitabh Bachchan had in the 1980s, that of an angry young man.
The shooting will start once Shah Rukh allots his dates. It is assumed that the film will be released on the auspicious day of Eid in 2016 and will create the same magic as Chennai Express.
Shah Rukh has in the pipeline other projects too – Happy New Year to be released this year, and Fan and Raees.
