MUMBAI: Shraddha Kapoor is preparing for her next film ‘ABCD 2’ and has apparently injured herself while trying out a risky dance move.
Shraddha had intensive practice sessions as she has to master various dance styles for this film. While learning an extremely difficult move, a split for one of the sequences, she reportedly got hurt.
The prequel of the film had Prabhu Dheva playing the role of a dance teacher, who leaves the dance company started by his friend (Kay Kay Menon) and establishes his own class, where he teaches new forms of dance to talented street dancers. This installment had Salman Yusuf Khan (winner of Dance India Dance), Lauren Gotlieb (Participant of So You Think You Can Dance), Dharmesh (Contestant in Dance India Dance) playing leads among others.
However, even while resting, Shraddha has decided to make most of her time. She has been watching dance videos of different forms and trying to understand them.
The upcoming movie by choreographer-turned-director Remo D’ Souza, showcases her in a role very different from both her previous roles. The actress feels that the challenging role is giving her a chance to learn a lot. Also this will be the first film featuring childhood friends Varun Dhawan and Shraddha.
Though the sequel maintains its previous star cast of Prabhu Dheva and Lauren, many new actors will be added and a major portion of the film will be shot abroad too. With hopes to recreate the magic of India’s first 3-D dance film, the script is inspired from the true story of an Indian dance troupe that participated in the world Hip Hop Championships. ABCD 2 will be shot extensively in Las Vegas, with over 10 songs and extravagant dance sequences.
